About us
Since our inception in 1987, Dales Engineering Services Ltd has been providing fabrication, welding, machining and mechanical engineering solutions. From humble beginnings in the North East of Scotland, the company has grown to become a major force in our field and is regarded as a trusted partner by our customers.
We specialise in fabricating medium to large steel structures and pipe spools for subsea/topside oil & gas, offshore wind renewables and various onshore sectors. We also have teams working on maintenance and refurbishment for traditional hydro power generation sites, waste plants and food processing plants.
From customer design, we manufacture a diverse range of items, from complex 200Te+ subsea control manifolds down to simple one-off components. With over 550 qualified welding procedures, we can fabricate with many material types including carbon steels, stainless steels, duplex and super duplex steels and alloys. Through our network of trusted subcontractors we provide a full fabrication package including testing, coating and delivery to site or quayside.
The health and safety of our employees, subcontractors and visitors is our number one priority. We operate an integrated management system that is fully accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 for Quality, ISO 45001:2018 for Health and Safety and ISO 14001 for Environmental Management.
We deliver to destinations throughout the UK and across the world, including seafastening services for the offshore industry. Our main facilities are based in Peterhead, one of the UK’s foremost deep water ports, and our site extends to over 6 acres.

Through our network of trusted subcontractors we provide a full fabrication package, from customer design to delivery to site or quayside.

In-house engineering and draughting support, including on-site survey and full 3D AutoCAD and Inventor capability.

From complex 200Te+ subsea control manifolds down to simple one-off components, in carbon, stainless, duplex and super duplex steels and alloys.

Facilities on site for assembly, testing and commissioning of equipment, with NDT, heat treatment and pressure testing through approved subcontractors.

Coating and delivery to site or quayside, with direct access to vessels on the Smith Quay at Peterhead Port.
Past projects
Case 01 / 04
Fabrication and complex seafastening of grillages for the installation of offshore wind turbine jackets. Total weight over 600Te per barge.
Case 02 / 04
Fabrication of 3 subsea manifolds. We successfully delivered these 100+ tonne structures to the quayside concurrently, without any lost time safety incidents or welding repairs.
Case 03 / 04
Fabrication, sea freight packaging and installation support on more than 100,000kg of structural steel. Fabricated in 650+ individual components, allowing it to be shipped from the UK to Chad for successful installation.
Case 04 / 04
Design support, fabrication & installation of more than 40Te of structural steel and in excess of 7km of piping, the majority stainless steel 316L. This was achieved with No Onsite Welding (NOW).
